Photo by Dan Nilsen SWARTZ CREEK — Having just faced a bevy of shots on goal in Flint Metro League competition against Linden last week, the Swartz Creek varsity soccer team was looking to get back on track on Monday at home against Brandon. The Blackhawks, on the other hand, were looking for more of the same and that’s exactly what they got, defeating the Dragons 9-1.

Scoring Creek’s only goal was Zachary Golden, Britton Sacharski had eight saves and making three defensive stops was netminder Trenton Pifer.

At Linden on Sept. 17, Swartz Creek got pinned with a 7-0 Flint Metro League defeat.

“Linden controlled the pace and the scoreboard from the start, scoring less than three minutes into the game allowing the momentum to stay with the home side,” said coach Ryan Trevethick. “(Dragons goalie) Sacharski was peppered by shots early and, after finding a 3-0 deficit at halftime, Swartz Creek was unable to generate any attack in the second half. Linden proved why it was the second-ranked team in Div. 2.”

The Dragons had a conference game at Kearsley yesterday.
