Dust off those Easter baskets and get ready for some springtime fun. Here’s a rundown of local Easter events:

CLAYTON TOWNSHIP – The Clayton Township Police Department and American Legion Post 294 will co-sponsor their 2nd annual Easter egg hunt from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the Legion on Morrish Road.

The Easter Bunny will stop by, and there will be games and prizes. Hot dogs, snacks and refreshments will be available.

Separate hunting grounds will be set up for children age 5 and younger, ages 6 to 8 and ages 9 to 12.

Hunting will begin shortly after noon.

Both groups are asking for donations of Easter baskets to be given away as prizes. To donate, contact the police department at 635- 3230 or the Legion at 635-7333.

GAINES – Faith Church is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt at Peace Park at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28.

The Easter Bunny will stop by there, too.

Prizes will be awarded for hunters who find the lucky eggs. Bring your own basket.

Age groups are 6 and younger and 7 and older.

Anyone wishing to donate candy to stuff the eggs, money or prizes should contact the Village offices at 517-271-8386, or Beth at 810-730-2353.

GAINES TOWNSHIP – Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene, 7154 S. Morrish Road, will host a community Easter egg hunt and breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 28.

Breakfast will be served until 10:30 a.m. The event includes crafts and prizes, face painting and balloon designs, and pictures with the Easter Bunny (there is a small fee for the pictures). For information, call 635-2148.

CLAYTON TOWNSHIP – Faith Missionary Church, 1327 N. Elms Road, will sponsor an Easter event for elementary age children through fifth grade, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28. Festivities include a bunny hop, egg relay, huge egg hunt, lots of candy, snacks and more.

SWARTZ CREEK – Swartz Creek United Methodist Church will host its annual Easter Fair from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 4, in the Family Life Center, 7400 Miller Road.

Festivities include games, prizes, crafts, music, stories and a bounce house.

Everything is free. All are welcome.

MUNDY TOWNSHIP – Hill Creek Church of God will have special multi-media services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Easter Sunday. The services will serve as a preview to NBC’s new series, “A.D.,” which begins Easter night.

Following the 11 a.m. service, the church will have an Easter egg hunt.

“Our church is completely nut free now, and all of the candy will be safe for anyone with peanut allergies,” said Bishop Jeff Lambert.
