Robert Fitzpatrick, who is making the rounds of the local elementary schools this week to teach youngsters about fire prevention. Fitzpatrick visited Dieck Elementary on Monday, where he talked about things like the proper way to escape from smokefilled buildings. He also suited up so the kids could see what firefighters look like when they’re on the job. The general consensus among the students was that he looked and sounded like Darth Vader. Fitzpatrick also assured the kids that, in the event of a fire, the firefighters would rescue their pets, even fish. Fitzpatrick volunteers his time to teach fire safety.
