Baseball team narrowly falls in districts

Photo by Dan Nilsen FLUSHING – The Swartz Creek baseball team (21-15) opened the playoffs against Kearsley at Flushing on Saturday in a 9-8 district semifinal loss. Kearsley won the game on a walk-off, scoring the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Stefano Schippono led the Dragons with two hits and two RBI while Nolan Moore, Brodie Herman, Brandon Gilson and Zach Rigdon each racked up a pair of hits also. – B.P.
