File Photo SWARTZ CREEK – Circle Saturday, Aug. 12 on the calendar if you are a Swartz Creek football fan. That’s the date that has been set for the annual Red and White football scrimmage.

Coach Josh Spencer says it’s the second annual version of the game, which is an intra-squad scrimmage to simulate the competition that lies ahead for the fall season.

“The scrimmage is also the jumping-off point for our teams to have communication and meetings with parents, watch some great early-season football, and share in a program potluck picnic,” said Spencer.

“I was hoping that for 2017 we could take the scrimmage to a new level by inviting youth-level participants as well as our high school band, cheerleaders and poms to participate in a mock-game environment,” added Spencer. “I think it would be a great time to meetand greet and celebrate the fall seasons of our programs.”

The JV and freshman football will scrimmage a mixed game from 10-11 a.m. and the varsity will hit the gridiron from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Picnic and parent meetings will follow.
