Women’s Expo on tap

Over 150 exhibits at Dort Federal Event Center this weekend

FLINT – Ladies, get ready for the Time of Your Life as the Women’s Expo takes over Dort Federal Event Center this weekend. The fun begins this Friday, Sept. 8 at noon and runs until 7 p.m. and starts up again Saturday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m.

“We at Cumulus Broadcasting are so excited at the response from everyone in the community for our Time of Your Life Women’s Expo event,” said Wendy Brimley, General Sales Manager at Cumulus Media. “Our lineups for both Friday and Saturday are pretty full, including a wide variety of activities, speakers, entertainment and just plain fun! Whether you like to shop, be creative, inspired, pampered or just laugh and be entertained, we have you covered.”

The Women’s Expo features more than 150 exhibits, seminars, workshops and more. There will be shopping, food samples, spa treatments, prizes and much more. Friday features a special Ladies Night starting at 5 p.m. featuring Workday Wine Down, comediennes Katrina Brown, Esther Nevarez and Amy Probst. At 7 p.m. get ready for Drag After Dark featuring Detroit’s best drag performers and free drag queen makeovers from professional makeup artists featuring products from Lime Light Cosmetics.

Saturday features a Michigan Author’s Corner from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., comedy at noon by Melissa Hager, plus special guest speaker Brenda Brissette-Mata at 1 p.m., a fashion show at 2:30 p.m. and much more.

Guests can enter to win great prizes including a $500 gift card to Genesee Valley Center and $500 14K White Gold Diamond Earrings from Medawar Jewelers.

Tickets are available at VG’s stores now for $8 or at the door for $10. The Women’s Expo is presented by Cumulus Radio, which includes popular radio stations CK 105.5, Z 92.7, Nash 95.1 FM, Sports Xtra 1330 and Super Talk 1570 AM. Sponsors include: VG’s Grocery, Hurley Medical Center, Genesee Health Plan, Dort Federal Credit Union, American Heart Association, Verizon and View Newspaper Group.
