Swartz Creek/Flushing swims past Lapeer

SWARTZ CREEK — The Swartz Creek/Flushing girls’ swim team defeated Lapeer 111-72 in a dual meet on Wednesday, August 30. The team placed first in six of the 12 events. The relay team consisting of Delanie Moulton, Emma Lemieux, Maddie Kranz and Madysyn McKown won the 200 medley relay, finishing in 2:15.02. McKown went on to win the 200 IM in 2:45.41. Lemieux also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:25.11.

Rose Rietz won the diving competition, scoring 116.2. Isabella Lanave was right behind her in second with 108.3.

Kranz placed first in the 100 butterfly in 1:15.38. She was followed by Julia Pattee and Rietz, who swam 1:32.31 and 1:36.48, respectively.

Swartz Creek/Flushing dominated the 500 freestyle, placing the top three swimmers. Paige Cram won the event in 6:45.54. Sierra Oberry finished second in 7:07.64 and Lanave was third in 7:23.04.

Swartz Creek/Flushing secured the victory with two teams medaling in the 400 freestyle relay. The team of Lemieux, Cram, Moulton and Caitlynn Kruyer placed second in 4:49. Behind them was the team of Lanave, Oberry, Pattee and Rietz in 5:09.14.
