The 33rd annual Swartz Creek Area Firefighters Christmas parade lit up downtown with sparkling lights, festive music and lots of smiling faces. Folks lined the streets, enjoying mild temperatures and a grand processional featuring more than a dozen entries. The award for best motorized parade entry went to Girl Scout Troop 75722. Cub Scout Pack 161 took the honors for best walking unit. And best emergency vehicle accolades went to Stat EMS. The parade capped off a day of fun that included the 2nd annual Christmas in the Creek business open houses and the inaugural Christmas in the Creek family event that included a team challenge, ugly sweater and best beard contests, storytelling, skits, caroling and more. Team challenge winners were the Savage Santas, with BMT Sketchers and Academy Dragons taking second and third, respectively. Brad Lyndsay won the ugly sweater contest, and Mike Marble had the best beard.
