Lady Dragons basketball thwarted by Carman-Ainsworth

Photo by Timothy Mucciante FLINT TWP. – The Swartz Creek girls’ basketball team fell to a dominant Carman-Ainsworth on Friday, losing 68-44. Carman- Ainsworth held a 34-17 lead at half, doubling Swartz Creek’s score.

Carman-Ainsworth jumped out to a 24-13 lead in the opening quarter. Swartz Creek was then held to only four points in the second while Carman-Ainsworth added another 10.

Following the break, the Lady Dragons were outscored once again, 21-9 to give Carman-Ainsworth a 55-26 lead heading into the final quarter. Swartz Creek then picked up the pace in the fourth, putting up 18 points to the Cavaliers’ 13.

Chianne Gloster led Swartz Creek with 15 points and 10 boards. Cianna Gloster added 11 points and eight boards.

For Carman-Ainsworth, Destiny Strother led with 25 points. Xeryia Tatt added 16 and Chenelle King had 13.

Swartz Creek faces Fenton at 6 p.m. on Friday.
