Swartz Creek girls notch win against Brandon

Swartz Creek held Brandon to only one point in the first quarter while putting up nine to go up 9-1. Swartz Creek added a 13-10 second quarter to lead 22-11 by halftime. The Dragons then added an 11-2 third and 6-4 fourth.

Chianne Gloster put up 10 points for Swartz Creek and grabbed eight rebounds. Cianna Gloster added nine points and had six boards. Aajah Hendrix chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.

On Saturday, the Lady Dragons lost a 66-62 overtime thriller against Beecher. Cianna Gloster led Swartz Creek with a double-double, putting up 21 points and snagging 16 boards. Hendrix chipped in 15 points.

Swartz Creek was edged out by Kearlsey on Friday, losing 53-51. The Dragons took a 13-9 lead after the first and was up 26-20 by halftime. Following the break, Kearsley began to gain momentum, outscoring Swartz Creek 12-11 in the third to cut the Dragons’ lead to five. Kearsley ultimately stole the lead in the final quarter, going on a 21-14 run to hand Swartz Creek the loss.

Chianne Gloster led the Dragons with 14 points and 15 boards. Cianna Gloster added 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Swartz Creek, 5-6, is at Clio on Friday.
