Jan Sulz, Tammy Parenteau and Wanda Tyler, members of the GFWC – Swartz Creek Women’s Club, served up heapin’ helpin’s of homemade chili during the club’s annual chili dinner fundraiser Friday at the United Methodist Church of Swartz Creek. Club members served more than 240 dinners, and Greg Sturgeon pitched in on KP duty. Final tallies on proceeds are to be determined, but all funds will go to the Metro Police Authority of Genesee County’s Camp 911 and Cops in the Park programs for area youth. “The GFWC – Swartz Creek Women’s Club is proud of our community as, once again, they have come to our event to support our club for a successful fundraiser,” said club member Sandi Brill. “We would also like to send out a special thank you to the Bueche family for their donation of all the hamburger in memory of Paul Bueche. Consumers Energy also donated funds through the Energy Savers Club. The GFWC’s next fundraiser will be the rocking chair rock-a-thon during Hometown Days, which will raise money for police K-9s.
