Welcome, Eatin’ Vegan!


Photo by Lania Rocha Photo by Lania Rocha The Swartz Creek Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Eatin’ Vegan to town with a ribbon-cutting ceremony May 2. Owned by mother-daughter duo Rosa and Angela Perkins, the restaurant has been serving up healthy, vegan alternatives since Dec. 18. “It’s going really well,” said Angela Perkins. “We’ve been very well received. A lot of people who come in aren’t even vegan.” Eatin’ Vegan is rolling out a spring menu with more cold salads, a raw juice bar and possibly some cold soups. Above, Rosa Perkins wields the scissors with daughter Angela Perkins by her side, while Carolyn McQuigg and Robert Perkins hold the ribbon. Also attending the event were, back row from left, Tracey Ledford, Kristen Brisben, Jacqueline Hosler, Debra Hackett, Dawn Jamison, Kali Varner, John Knickerbocker, David Mayers and Linda Russell.
