Bowling teams roll past Holly, Linden




FENTON – The Swartz Creek girls’ bowling team picked up a pair of 29-1 wins over both Holly and Linden at Holly Lanes Saturday.

Against Linden, Swartz Creek won both Baker games, 146-144 and 185-99. Individually, Jay Brown led the team with games of 167 and 193.

The boys’ team also won defeating Holly 25-5 and Linden 29-1.

In the match against Holly, Swartz Creek split the Baker games, 187-152 and 187-197. Individually, Chandin Blovin led the way with games of 223 and 182. Donald Waddell rolled games of 212 and 163, Ben Goupil had games of 200 and 188, Nick Johnson recorded a 182 and 178 and Logan Rigdon had games of 226 and 160.

Against Linden, the Dragons won both Baker games, 243-99 and 157-110. Waddell finished with games of 180 and 215, Blovin had games of 215 and 181 and Johnson had a 194 and a 178. Rigdon added games of 201 and 162 and Casey Lanigan had games of 156 and 123.

Last Wednesday, Swartz Creek faced off with Kearsley, losing 24-6 on the girls’ side and 16-14 on the boys.

The Lady Dragons had a lead through the Baker games with a series total 370-341. Kim Matus led individually with games of 197 and 166, Brown had games of 193 and 162 and Tori Vanderkuur rolled games of 179 and 171.

The boys’ team split the Baker games, losing 237-205 in the first but winning 234-197 in the second. Individually, Blovin led the team, picking up his first-ever 300 game along with a 259. Lanigan had games of 209 and 180, Johnson rolled games of 184 and 172 and Goupil had games of 233 and 178. Rigdon chipped in with a 183 and 121.

Swartz Creek faces Flushing at Grand Blanc Lanes Wednesday at 6 p.m.
