City seeking candidates for city council, vacancy

DAVISON — City Manager Andrea Schroeder said residents interested in serving on the Davison City Council will need to get their petitions into the clerk’s office by Aug. 2 for their name to appear on the ballot in the November general election to fill four seats on the council.

Terms ending in November are those of councilmembers Ron Emery, Jessica Abraham and Chris Hinkley.

The council also needs to fill a vacancy created by the recent resignation of Councilwoman Jamie Stebbins.

Anyone wishing to run for council needs a petition, available at city hall, 200 E. Flint St., #2, in Davison, signed by 50 registered voters from the city.

The city council is seeking candidates interested in filling the vacancy left by Stebbins until the November election.

Candidates must not be in default to the city or to any other political subdivision in Michigan, registered to vote in the city, and have lived in the city for the last year.

This appointee shall serve until Nov. 21 when the winner of the election will take over the seat.

All interested parties shall send or email a letter of intent by Wednesday, July 13 addressed to: Clerk Andrea Schroeder, City Council Vacancy, 200 E. Flint St., Suite 2, Davison MI 48423
